When you’ve spent the entire summer photographing weddings, it’s absolutely lovely to have the opportunity to do something different.

When I arrived at this lovely couple’s house, Deb was already about 8 months pregnant and eagerly awaiting the birth of her and her husband’s first child. As a couple, these two were so warm and welcoming that we ended up having a really lovely afternoon chatting and of course photographing the bump.

With their beautiful new baby girl arriving a little earlier than planned, I think it was only a fortnight later before I was back to photograph the new addition and my goodness is she beautiful. There is something so special about sharing such an exciting / emotional / amazing time with a couple and I’m genuinely honoured to have been trusted to capture it.

As the couple want to remain a little bit anonymous, I’m only going to share a few images from our bump to baby shoots but as their new addition is so adorable, I think it’s absolutely fine for her to take centre stage!

When I had my daughter Olivia (who’s now five), I must admit that the last thing on my mind was photographing her, never mind getting dolled up to be in front of the camera myself!

Looking back, I think I probably should have made the effort as the first proper photographs I have of my little one are from when she’s about 4 months old. Since the first few months passed by in a hazy blur of sleep deprivation, I remember very little which is why it’s so important to take photographs OR, book a professional photographer to come and do it for you!
