Wedding Photography At St Donat’s Castle

St Donat’s Castle Wedding Photography

Despite it being late July, the wedding of Jacob & Malin featured torrential rain and very wet hair and feet for me!

I have been lucky enough to only have had a few weddings that have been this bad in terms of weather but thankfully, the couple had a very supportive best man who was happy to stand outside with an umbrella over me and my cameras whilst I photographed the lovely couple under a beautiful stone archway. The things we do in the name of art!

The day kicked off at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge for bridal preparations followed by a beautiful ceremony in St Donat’s Church and an even lovelier reception in the Castle. Whilst Jacob and Malin were obviously absolutely ecstatic to have just got married, I couldn’t help feeling terribly sorry for them having to endure such awful weather, particularly when I saw on the itinerary for the day that lawn games had been scheduled! With such beautiful views from the castle and plans to head to the beach for photographs, this day couldn’t have been anything less like what the couple had in mind, but, thank heavens for true love as judging by their evident happiness throughout, the love is all that really matters in the end!

Castle weddings can be so elegant and I love to photograph in all of the castles across Cardiff and South Wales. If you’re planning a castle wedding in Wales and are looking for a wedding photographer to capture the day, get in touch and we can arrange a consultation.
