Lets have coffee!

Your first meeting with your Wedding Photographer is in my opinion, very much like a first date, if you don’t click, it’s not happening! This is why I offer a complimentary consultation to all my potential clients. I usually hold consultations in Cardiff over a big mug of Coffee which is a great opportunity to get to know each other, talk through all the finer details of your big day and of course, for you to see more photographs.

FAQ- The Essentials

As a fellow ‘awkward’ in front of the camera I completely understand an utter inability to just smile for the camera! This has undoubtedly played a part in cultivating the natural, reportage style in which I shoot and I actively focus my attention on capturing my subjects off-guard as well as telling my very best jokes during those photographs when I really do need you to smile! The result; beautiful and natural-looking shots of you looking your absolute best.

⚡️Testimonial ⚡️

Fran was exactly what we were looking for. She was laid back and chilled, allowing us to enjoy our day without worrying about posing for photos continuously. Our wedding photos are stunning, everybody is so impressed and we could not be happier!!! Thank you so much x

The common denominator in the above testimonials and most other testimonials I receive is that apparently, I have the ability to put people at ease and maybe even get them to the stage where they enjoy having their photograph taken. Wedding photography is as much about the photographer’s ability to draw out the best in people as it is about the compositional / technical  side of things and thankfully, without sounding completely conceited, I rock at both!

My aim is always to create a unique and stunning visual narrative of your day. That said, I try to remain as unobtrusive as possible and am always conscious of the fact that this is your wedding day and not a photo shoot! Of course, some formal shots will be taken and some time is spent away from your guests creating those fashion and editorial inspired images of the bride and groom but the majority of what I shoot will be around capturing the events of the day as they unfold.

This largely depends on just how ‘big’ your Wedding is but I usually provide around 600 – 1000 images in colour and a selection of black and white.

To give you an idea of my pricing, USB only weddings start from £1195 for part day coverage and £1695 for full day coverage. Shorter  coverage is available upon request. You can view my current brochure here. Wedding photography quotes are occasionally created on a bespoke basis based on factors such as length of coverage required, size and scale of the wedding, what type of album you require (if at all) and where and when you are getting married. I always recommend to clients that they book in for a pre wedding shoot as not only is it a fantastic opportunity for us to get to know each other but it’s perfect as a dress rehearsal of what to expect on your Wedding day. The more comfortable you are with me and my style of working, the better your photographs will be. Pre wedding photography sessions start at £225 depending on the package you’re booking.

I’m a proud Canon girl! I shoot with two Canon 5d Mark iv’s and a variety of prime lenses. My favourite is my Sigma Art, it is so flattering for portrait shots so I tend to use it a lot during bridal prep in the morning and later on during the couples shots.

Of course! This is one of the major differences between professional photographers and those offering wedding photography packages for silly prices on gumtree! I am fully insured so that if the worst happens, myself and my clients are covered.

I’m proud to say that I have a number of friends in the photography industry in Wales and am lucky to be part of a group of 90 welsh wedding photographers who in times of trouble are happy to step in and help one another out. This in my opinion is priceless. At the end of the day, sometimes things happen that are out of our control so to have that back up is very reassuring for me and my clients.

Yes, I accept wedding photography commissions throughout the UK, Europe and Internationally. Whilst I am based in Cardiff and the majority of my wedding photography takes place across Wales and the South West, I welcome destination weddings with gusto as I adore travelling! I will also put a hefty discount on my package prices for destination weddings if the location is somewhere I’m keen to visit.

FAQ- Albums

Yes of course. The world is literally your oyster in terms of album design, leather, linen, coffee table book, the choice is yours!

Prices for albums differ but to give you an idea, coffee table books start from £395 and fine art albums start from £495.

Yes. I offer a range of photographic products all of which can be purchased as part of your package or up to 12 months after the Wedding.

This is exactly what the consultation is for. I always bring at least 3 printed albums with me so you can see as many examples of my work as possible. You can also keep up to date with my latest wedding photography work by heading over to my blog . . .

FAQ- After The Wedding

Absolutely! The majority of the work involved in being a Wedding Photographer is editing the photographs afterwards. My editing style is ‘looks like film’ which means that colours / tones are subtle and natural.

Usually after four weeks, but during May-September it can be up to 8 weeks. I sometimes put up a little preview on Facebook or Instagram in the interim followed by a blog post for you to share with friends and family.

After you have received your digital copy of the wedding, I aim to send out your first set of album proofs within a fortnight and once these have been approved by you, albums usually take around 3-4 weeks to arrive from the printers.

Absolutely! Whilst I still own the copyright license for the images, you are granted what’s called a reproduction license for personal use which means that you are free to print off as many copies of your photographs as you like for yourselves and family and friends.

For commercial usage, there are restrictions. If you are contacted by one of your other wedding suppliers asking for images, it’s better to direct them straight to me.
