Cardiff Wedding Photography Highlights 2018
A Selection Of Weddings In Cardiff & South Wales From 2018
Venues include:
As I didn’t get around to posting my highlights until March last year, I’m considering this a major win that I’m doing this in January!
2018 has been a big year for ‘Francesca Hill Photography’. When you start a business, the endless hours of literal blood, sweat and tears involved are unquantifiable and you do wonder whether you’ll ever get to a point where you think, yeah I’ve done it!
2018 has been full of moments where I’ve finally thought YES, this is fantastic!
On my Wedding Photographer ‘bucket list’ was:
‘Photograph a destination Wedding’
I have always wanted to go to Italy so imagine my utter joy when Ashley & Rachel came along and asked me to photograph their wedding in Tuscany. This was one of the highlights of 2018 and not only can I cross of ‘destination wedding’ from my Wedding Photographer bucket list but I can also cross off ‘Go To Italy’ from my general bucket list!

‘Win An Award’
As a reasonably laid back / humble individual, it’s relatively surprising that this would even feature on my list but, as an Aquarius, my personality type is unpredictable and full of contradictions! I’m not sure why this was even in my head but I wanted to win an award at some stage for something! In 2018, I won not one but two awards; ‘Creative Wedding Photographer’ at The Welsh Wedding Awards and ‘Creative Wedding Photographer’ at The Global Wedding Awards. I rocked up to the events not expecting to win for a second and not even being particularly precious about whether I did or didn’t but actually, it was an absolutely amazing feeling to have my hard work recognised and definitely a career high point for 2018!
‘Have a Wedding Featured On Rock My Wedding’
I’ve had weddings featured on a lot of wedding blogs but Rock My Wedding is like the messiah of all wedding blogs and the epitome of ‘cool’. So, when I got the approval for Dave & Mekele’s wedding to be featured, it’s fair to say I was absolutely ecstatic! Their Wedding was absolutely amazing and screamed RMW with everything from the flower crowns to Mekele’s choice of dress. If you’re planning a boho / festival themed wedding, please get in touch as these are my absolute favourites to photograph!

‘Front A Magazine Cover’
Having one of my images used for the front cover of Welsh Weddings Magazine came as a complete surprise to me and again, whilst I wouldn’t have thought I’d be that excited about a magazine cover, when the director of the magazine turned up with it in her hand I was actually super proud! The fact that the issue also coincided with ‘The Big Welsh Wedding Show’ (my other business) and was distributed within the welcome bags to all the brides who attended, well if that’s not a marketing score / highlight of 2018 then I’m not sure what is!
So, to sum up, 2018 has been an absolute blast! And please excuse my shameless showboating above, I wanted to share my wins of 2018 with you whilst also letting Google know all about them so they can rank my website higher 🙂
Finally (and most importantly) I want to say a big thank you to all the beautiful people I photographed in 2018. I’m not a particularly ‘gushy’ person but it truly is an honour to be chosen to photograph what is arguably one of the most important days of a person’s life and also a huge compliment that people like me / my work enough to choose me.
Here are the highlights . . .
If you’re getting married in 2019 / 20 and beyond and are still looking for your perfect wedding photographer then please do get in touch and let’s meet for coffee and a chat. I already have some really exciting weddings in the diary for 2019 / 20 and am keen for more boho / festival themed beauties ! I love barns, flower crowns and my new favourite venue type – cow sheds.
