The Secret Garden Dyffryn Mawr Wedding Photography
Secret Garden Weddings
Two Kit Kat chunky’s later, I have managed to finish a blog post! Three cheers for me and what a fabulous wedding it is at The Secret Garden, Dyffryn Mawr.
I don’t often second shoot as with so many of my own weddings to shoot, if I happen to have a clear weekend I prefer to use it for sleep / spending time with my daughter / more sleep. However, when Tim Bishop asked me to second shoot at the Secret Garden Dyffryn Mawr, I literally couldn’t say no as it’s an amazing venue that I’ve had on my list of ‘places I want to photograph at ‘ for a while!
I have to say, the venue absolutely didn’t disappoint and I’m now even more eager to photograph there myself! The little cottages that provide accommodation along with the marquee come tipi make for some lovely photo opportunities and are very much in keeping with my style of photography.
The couple were also absolutely gorgeous and lovely to spend the day with! Groom prep was an absolute hoot, I’m obviously very used to photographing the female side of the bridal party so getting creative with the guys was a nice change!
If you are considering a second shooter for your wedding, this post should give you an idea of the kind of extra shots you would get in addition to your main photographs. I work alone a lot of the time and as a single photographer you can try and be everywhere but it is inevitable that you will cover less than if there is two of you! It’s not important to everyone to capture absolutely everything, particularly with smaller weddings but if you have the budget then it’s definitely worth considering a second photographer . . . .
THE SECRET GARDEN AT DUFFRYN MAWR
The Secret Garden is a beautiful and intimate location suitable for a marquee wedding or function in the Vale of Glamorgan. It is a hidden gem where your celebration can be nestled in the beautiful Vale countryside tucked away in the garden of an old farm cottage near to the village of Pendoylan. The Secret Garden has a magical and secluded air and the garden offers a tranquil location that your guests will never forget. You can celebrate your wedding or party amidst the natural beauty of the garden.
This was an absolutely fantastic venue, so quirky and cool! My absolute dream venues when photographing weddings usually involve something a little bit different and the secret garden really does offer something unique!
